As one of the objects set out in the FCO Objects and Bylaws is “To develop and promote professional standards of conduct and a code of ethics for Ombudsman offices in Canada” our Board has been working on this objective over the past year. The result of that work is our draft Statement of Ethical Principles.

We are seeking your input in a number of ways:
1) by circulating this document now to receive your feedback via email and
2) we are hosting a plenary session on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at this week’s FCO Conference to discuss the importance of this kind of discussion for the Ombudsman/person profession and the FCO members.

If you are not able to attend the conference, please send your feedback to fcoadmin@ombudsmanforum.ca and it will be carefully considered as part of the consultation process.
