December 9, 2013

November 29, 2013 – The Québec Ombudsperson, Raymonde Saint-Germain, this week was elected for a two-year term to head the Association des Médiateurs et Ombudsmans de la Francophonie (AOMF), at its 8th Biennial Congress, held in Dakar, Senegal.

“The AOMF plays an essential role in supporting the newest or most fragile institutions. By relying on the solidarity and expertise of the different members, I am convinced we can optimize our achievements in the service of good governance and democracy,” Raymonde Saint-Germain declared.

The AOMF is a professional organization of the independent mediation institutions of the countries of La Francophonie. Its primary objective is the development of ombudsman and mediator institutions. Benefiting from the support of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie, the Association also promotes knowledge of the role of the ombudsman and the mediator to La Francophonie’s member parliaments and governments.
