FCO Bursary to Attend FCO/Osgoode Ombuds Essentials Course

In recognition of the fiftieth (50th) anniversary of the establishment of the first Ombudsman role in Canada in 1965, FCO is providing a bursary for the cost of enrollment in the FCO/Osgoode ‘Ombuds Essentials Course offered in English from September 28 – October 2, 2015 in Toronto or in French in Montreal in May, 2016.

Description of the certificate program (2015 Registration fee: $3150 + 409.50 = $3559.50)

The bursary will be awarded to an individual who presents the most compelling argument for one of the two choices:

  1. A More Civil Approach: The Case for Establishing Ombuds Structures Everywhere in Canadian Society  or
  2. A More Civil Approach: The Case for Establishing Ombuds Structure for a Particular Jurisdiction, Industry, Institution, Profession, Organization, etc.

The maximum length of the essay is 10,000 words and it may be written in French or English.

The winning essay will be selected by a Panel of distinguished reviewers made up of Past Presidents of the Forum of Canadian Ombudsman.
