MEMBERS of the Forum of Canadian Ombudsman (FCO) are advised that the

Annual General Meeting of Board Members and Officers will take place Tuesday, June 6, 2023 via Zoom.

At this meeting we will elect the Board of Directors for a two-year term. Please consider putting your name forward for election by the members as we have many exciting projects in process and others in the planning stages. The work of the Board is designed to promote the role of Ombuds and provide for a wide variety of professional development opportunities for our members – Ombuds’ professionals.

Vacancies

MEMBERS are further advised by the Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors of the FCO that nominations for the nine (9) positions on the Board are open for the 2023-2025 term (June 6, 2023 to AGM in Spring 2025). The Nominating Committee is seeking expressions of interest for Board vacancies from Members who are qualified and skilled persons capable of, and committed to, providing effective governance and leadership to the FCO. Pursuant to the FCO by-laws, the following individuals are disqualified from being a Director:

a. Anyone who is less than eighteen years of age;

b. Anyone who has been declared incapable by a Court in Canada or in another country;

c. Anyone who is not an individual;

d. Anyone who is not a member;

e. Anyone who does not have the power under law to contract; and

f. Anyone who has the status of a bankruptcy.

Nomination Process

Members can nominate themselves by completing the application form and sending it to info@ombudsforum.ca by the deadline of March 24, 2023.
